Over the past few weeks, some of our colleagues around the world have been celebrating Ramadan. Two of our colleagues have shared with us what this month of fasting, prayer and reflection means to them. Mareeya Muneer, Senior Scientist at Eurofins EAG Agroscience in the USA: “For me, Ramadan is a sanctuary where deep contemplation, spiritual reflection and introspection are practiced with the goal to come out of this immersive experience as a better version of ones self. It is also a time of celebration and joy, and a chance to strengthen your bond with your family, friends and community.” Ajaz Qureshi, Senior Director Business Development at Eurofins Central Laboratory in the UK: “Ramadan is a time for family and friends, to help those less fortunate, to take care of and share with our community, and to pray and work on ourselves so we become better people.” As Ramadan is coming to an end, we hope you had a peaceful month and were able to make good memories with your loved ones.

To mark Earth Day, we would like to shine the spotlight on our team from Eurofins Miljø Danmark, who hosted their annual Employee Day a few months ago! This year, they got together to work on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by discussing how they could be implemented in their work and everyday life. Of the 17 sustainable developments goals, they chose to mainly focus on 3: promoting good health and well-being, ensuring access to affordable and clean energy and encouraging responsible consumption and production. Our colleagues even invited Kirsten Brosbol, the former Danish Minister of Environment from 2014-2015, to join them on the day as they brainstormed how they could contribute to a safer and healthier world. Our colleagues are now working on a variety of projects that were initiated during this Employee Day, including projects to switch to a more organic and sustainable food diet at the office canteen, save energy in their laboratories and make the green areas around their facilities even more biodiverse.
