    - Clients intéressants, flexibilité dans le choix des dossiers, intellectuellement très intéressant - Une bonne opportunité d'emploi et un tremplin pour rejoindre des entreprises - Des locaux pensés pour les salariés, avec une cuisine, un baby-foot, etc.

    - Une charge de travail importante mais des collaborateurs juniors pas toujours valorisés - Une ambiance pas toujours bienveillante (mais cela doit évoluer en fonction des équipes étant donné le fort turnover)

    Some clients are interesting to work on (at least on paper) As a junior it might be a good start to learn how to work in shark environments for the future

    Numbers, numbers, numbers... Management cares only about money and nothing else. Given the high turnover rate, you're just a cog in the machine, easily replaceable. The ultimate goal in any project is to retain the client (for the money) and not actually achieve the final success on their behalf, so that's extremely demotivating. The focus is completely on the process and not the outcome (again, for the money).... Pointless long hours and low pay is being 'compensated' by fancy gadgets, ocasional parties and the cool status of a busy consultant. Then they try to somehow motivate the juniors by speaking of numbers all the time, as if they held shares in the company and should care about it. HR is completely useless (but that's everywhere these days, I guess) People live for their next promotion (within a year if you're lucky), which brings tears of joy for some and sorrow for others.

    Some loss of values and culture that made the company a real powerhouse. Long hours, but typical of consulting.

    Get the company refocused on what made it great...strong values, strong culture, great team-work and away from narrow "local" interests. Invest in the best talent already there and aggressively recruit the best from outside.

    All the mid to low entry level staff are stuck there with you. Commiseration is high.

    Minpunten

    I don't even know where to start. Probably with the fact that the management is completely useless. There is a LOT of trash talking within the office environment which brings the morale way down. Turnover wise: lots of layoffs. People are scared when the HR is making rounds in the office because no one knows who will get laid off next. I was working there for just over a year and 10+ people either left or were laid... off. Incredibly depressing. The upper management is horrifying. Most of them just delegate absolutely everything to their staff/interns. You are expected to work incredibly long hours for very little compensation. The raise situation is a joke. You'll be lucky to get a 2% raise. High enough to shove you into another tax bracket which basically costs you more than if you had had no raise at all. Little to no appreciation for any hard work you put in. And I really do mean that. Overall would not recommend working there. Run as fast and as far as you can.

    Pluspunten

    The APCO office culture is very "flat" and gives its junior staff the opportunity to grow and learn with a fairly quick promotion cycle. Compared to other agencies, the junior staff has a decent amount of responsibility. The people that work here are smart and driven, and generally are nice enough. The work is also interesting - however NY is mainly corporate comms with little public affairs (despite APCOs... reputation as a PA firm). A plus us they are totally flexible on WFH and office is closed Christmas week.

    APCO works its staff to the ground and expects its employees to be available 24/7. They also pay terribly given hours the staff give to their jobs. The result is little work/life balance and a lot of tears over the grueling work. They also have a major staffing issue and teams are often staffed incorrectly.

    Start focusing more on your employees, their happiness, the type of work they want to be on, and improve organizational and staffing structure.

    Smart people, good reputation in some global markets. Several long-time clients. Strong expertise in public affairs in Europe and the Middle East.

    Minpunten

    Leadership is not making good choices on business expansion, lack of investment in digital capabilities, decline in creative work, and lack of importance placed on retention of key senior staff. Financial growth has been stagnant for the last decade. Lots of turnover across all levels in the last few years and important senior people leaving in the US. CEO is in Europe and seems detached from global staff.

    Recognize why people hire APCO - for senior staff expertise and overall quality of work, for not having the retail tactical capabilities every agency hires or being in every market. Be smaller but better, Be nicer to people and more loyal. Be honest.
