    Hours in my dpt vary from earlies/lates an an irregular fashion at times. Somewhat broken communication between different departments within the company

    Really impressed by the customer focused attitude that has filtered down from upper management (in particular over past 2 years). Have had excellent team leaders over last 4 years. My advice to any management would be continue to believe in your teams ability to deliver excellent customer service!

    Look at how the previous managers valued and appreciated their members of staff. All the company is focused on now is making a quick penny without care or consideration for staff and customers.

    Meeting some truly amazing people who were dedicated, customer-centred and a pleasure to work with - most of these people have now moved on to bigger and better things though

    I had the worst experience working in one of the support functions at D&G but I truly believe that sharing it through this channel can stop the same happening to other good individuals out there.

    The very people who should set the tone for the entire company and be the guardians of a healthy culture can only be described as a clique of self-centred, power-hungry, spiteful, revengeful and immature people who have managed to push out an alarming number of high calibre employees over the past year. Having said that, I am not convinced anyone is taking any action to deal with this situation at D&G.

    Furthermore, most of the people who left or were made to leave this function went on to get much better/higher paid/higher profile jobs elsewhere, which is credit to their character and skills and just shows that the real loser is D&G.

    Colleagues in this function have been punished (or best-case scenario, ignored) for challenging the status quo, even when doing so in a professional and pertinent manner. The function's high attrition and constantly changing operating model to an unmanageable and unfit for purpose state resulted in overly stretched team members to be blamed for under-delivery against unrealistic targets or ever-changing priorities.

    The function's leadership consistently showed a real inability and reluctance to communicate and engage effectively with their people about the function's own direction of travel, upcoming changes or workload expectations. Some examples:
    - Colleagues would often hear last about personnel changes within their own function, heightening the levels of general uncertainty and concerns around own job security.
    - One day you could be the star of the team only to be completely ripped to pieces the next day for not doing something that somehow you had to guess was the most pressing priority among millions of other changing priorities.
    - On one hand you would be given the impression that you can express your views and contribute to the function's strategy, but in reality the bosses (potentially with their few favourites) would do as they please and decide how things should be done behind closed doors.
    - The bosses of this function did not care about employee well-being or even you as a person. You were great only if you delivered unflinchingly at pace and without much fuss about the manner in which things were being done to the business or other people. They did not really care or at least pretend to care about your health, personal circumstances or anything to do with your life outside D&G, and on return from a period off work, asked nothing about how you were feeling or whether you've recovered.
    - Some employees have been bullied or threatened when choosing to share their views of their mistreatment through external channels, because these bosses are obsessed with crafting a "glorious" yet fake external image and preserving this charade.
    - If you did as you were told, without challenging the function's leadership and serving them with blind devotion, you were more easily promoted and involved in interesting work - although I question the sort of personal or professional fulfilment you can gain from working in such a narrow-minded and unauthentic environment. The moment you dared as much as offer some constructive criticism (despite this being encouraged through the new culture and values in theory), the function's leadership would start treating you like a child (at best) or find ways to get rid of you/ push you out (at worst), regardless of how respected you were by others or valuable to the business.

    In the end, even though most people are fully aware of these issues, this function's leadership prevails in this manner and what's worse, exercises more and more control over the business. It will be interesting to see how things develop. However, I am firmly convinced nothing good can possibly come out of people who mistreat other people. What goes around comes around!

    Deal with these toxic leaders before it is too late - not all of them are like that, but the ones I am referring to are unfortunately in a position to influence the fate of other people in the business.

    Some great people work there. Young and vibrant at times.

    Minpunten

    Very noisy - you have to turn headset up to hear customers - not good for your hearing! Late finishing if you get a call come thru at 7.59pm! You get nothing for extra time on calls beyond end of shift - they are very time conscious from their end though - measured in seconds if late. Highly pressured to reach targets - floor targets change constantly, inconsistent leadership, poor equipment and desk space is often cramped and often filthy.

    Sort out the building and facilities - months with no hot water is not good and germs spread like wildfire as not everyone uses hand gel. Keep targets constant to reward hard working staff - it is hard work. Dont move them to, I guess, save company money.

    There are a few good things about working at d&g. One of them being you meet many different people and make many friends!
    The salary is very good also.

    Minpunten

    Awful management as team leaders and others treat you as a number and don’t care about your health or wellbeing.
    Some team leaders are very unprofessional, rude and don’t care.
    You’re treated very poor and unfairly.
    Was told there were many career opportunities but that was a lie and they don’t want you to progress.

    Sort your management out as many people leave due to being treated unfairly.
