New employees can meet a lot of people with different skills so that they can try to figure out what they want to do themselves. It is a good transition from college to the workplace.

Some managers and senior managers are very difficult to work with, feels like you can get lost in the shuffle. Often times, a person can get stuck doing one particular thing - which is good if you want expertise but bad if you want to try something new.
