The company is scared to recruit from anywhere other than within., and are suspicious of anyone who isn’t brought in from within the company. The obvious drawback is that they HAVE to pull in new blood from time to time to prevent a career vacuum. The company is behind the times in terms of computer systems, telephony, management attitudes, interview techniques, staff retention, office amenities (still got Christmas catalogues in the canteen yet it’s summer now). Vending machines in poor state of repair, overly in-crowd vs “strangers” and absolutely terrified of being thought badly of by one of the main cellphone airtime companies and being “dropped” down that companies league table.
