Eg complex and difficult to maintain flows are now in place, an engineer is likely to spend more time maintaining legacy code / test infrastructure etc or writing tests for existing code than developing new features. This also means there may be limited opportunities to acquire new skills. This is a symptom of all big companies however and not only this one.
