If you are considering to join Epiphany, please proceed with caution. In the past year alone, around 15 people left the company out of a 30+ headcount. This is a major red flag. Thus, while it seems that the company is "growing" due to the constant job adverts, it is not. Epiphany is a revolving door where people come and go because of its toxic, racist, and sexist environment. The company is ran by top management who breeds a toxic environment. At the helm is a delusional CEO who is surrounded by his so-called "golden circle" who perpetuates his ill behavior as their loyalty is rewarded with good compensation. It is a vicious culture where gossip and backstabbing are perpetuated by people at the top. Epiphany brands itself as a place that embraces and celebrates diversity but this is merely a marketing ploy to gather the best minds from different backgrounds. In fact, this company is very white. People in top management are all white despite boasting on its socials that they have 20+ nationalities in their talent pool. It is very surprising how this company normalizes acts of racism. For example, the CEO in numerous occasions have made ill comments about black people, poked fun at people's accents, and casually drops derogatory remarks about other cultures. As a company that is in the business of human insights, it is very alarming how the worldview of the people in charge are very white-tinted. This company is also very sexist and predatory. It is creepily disgusting how the CEO would comment on the physical appearance of female employees. He would go out of his way to develop personal bonds with those who he fancies and would retaliate and be vengeful once the opposite party does not reciprocate. The sexism also extends to how pregnant employees conveniently get fired or have their contract not renewed. It is disgusting how the CEO would remark how getting pregnant is a mistake. If you happen to stumble upon this review because you are considering to join Epiphany, I highly recommend you to keep looking for other options (you will thank me later). There are a lot of better research agencies out there. In fact, the standard of Epiphany's research is quite mediocre. The insights are often surface-level and its approach to research is antiquated (they only do online surveys). It is just another generic quant agency disguised as a cutting-edge human insights agency.

I am sorry that your time with us wasn’t ideal, and I recognize that our company is not for everyone. As we provide services to some of the most demanding brands in the world (which is something we are very proud of) in fast-paced and challenging industries, we ask our team members to be incredibly nimble. Having said that, I want to address the issue you raised of being a toxic, racist and sexist company. I want to stress that this is absolutely contrary to our core values of inclusiveness and respect for each and every individual. Having 20 nationalities working for us and females being (at this moment exactly) 50% of our people are maybe just numbers, but for us also proof of our inclusiveness. Still, we have acted upon your comment. We have organized a meeting with the whole company to discuss this. Additional actions we have taken are that we’re recruiting a head of HR and have appointed a trusted person whom our colleagues can contact. Regarding the management style and leadership team we have changed the organizational structure (resulting in smaller teams, so there will be enough time and attention for every individual working in the company) and we have made changes in the leadership team by getting some experienced and seasoned executives on board. Although your feedback was a bitter pill to swallow, it is greatly appreciated, and I'm thankful for the time you have taken to leave this review. I wish you all the best in your career.

Voor degenen die een rol bij Epiphany RBC overwegen, wees voorzichtig. Hoewel het bedrijf zichzelf presenteert als een dynamisch internationaal adviesbureau, opereert het in werkelijkheid als een kleine organisatie met een rigide, gecentraliseerde leiderschapsstructuur die geen ruimte laat voor alternatieve perspectieven. Het wordt volledig gecontroleerd door de oprichter, die elk aspect van de activiteiten dicteert, inclusief HR-processen. Werving, promoties en ontslagen zijn gebaseerd op persoonlijk oordeel in plaats van gestandaardiseerde evaluatiecriteria. De werkcultuur is giftig en onvoorspelbaar, met werknemers die te maken hebben met veranderende verwachtingen en last-minute eisen. Ondanks dat het zichzelf promoot als een snelle omgeving, komen inefficiënties voort uit slechte interne organisatie en reactief leiderschap. Het management bevordert opzettelijk een cultuur van interne concurrentie, waardoor een vijandige en wantrouwende werkplek ontstaat. Carrièreontwikkeling is afhankelijk van persoonlijke afstemming met leiderschap in plaats van verdienste of professionele bijdragen. Beloften van ontwikkeling zijn hol - er zijn geen gestructureerde groeimogelijkheden en onafhankelijk denken wordt actief ontmoedigd. Verantwoordelijkheden veranderen abrupt, zonder transparantie over carrièrevooruitzichten op de lange termijn. Een hoog personeelsverloop is een constant probleem. Een aanzienlijk deel van het personeelsbestand bestaat uit voormalige stagiairs die blijven, simpelweg vanwege de aanhoudende cyclus van vertrekken. Het behoud van werknemers is geen prioriteit en welzijn wordt genegeerd. Hoewel het bedrijf openlijk diversiteit propageert, vertelt de interne cultuur een ander verhaal. Leiderschap maakt vaak cultureel ongevoelige opmerkingen en feedback wordt niet verwelkomd of opgevolgd. De managementstijl is verouderd en autoritair, wat een cultuur van toxiciteit en disfunctie versterkt.
