Pluspunten
It really all depends on the department you work at and who's your boss. So far it's been a great experience because I'm allowed to develop new programs or just venture in to new territories. It also help that, Foothill has an amazing benefit package and a beautiful campus. The retirement plan is great also.
Minpunten
-Hard to move up, only if you are in 'the goods' with management. -Faculty and staff becoming too complacent, which leads to poor performances -Hard for management to fire or let go of unproductive people -The system is so bad because it's based on seniority and not skills -Promotion are limited after you completed all your steps -Union: dislike because I don't see any benefit to it because having to pay union fees, which is ridiculous -Reclassification is crazy because you actually have to perform out of your duties or at a higher level for quite some time first before requesting for reclass. Also, it's not up to management to approve of the reclass it's HR. I don't get that. How would HR know when they don't work with that individual on a daily basis.
