Pluspunten

The company offers more vacation weeks than many others, which is a notable benefit. The work environment is dynamic enough that it rarely feels monotonous.

Minpunten

The direction of the company is very on the ego and the mood of the leader, who makes a climate of fear. They want to show they are effective, but the decisions in the leadership don’t really value the knowledge and the competences of the teams. Sometimes, you ask yourself if they want really that the project succeed. HR is always going to follow and back up the president’s decisions, even when it means to put the ethics and the values on the side. In my time at Fuji Semec, I saw a lot of good talents go, from assemblers and engineers to managers, and it was not done in a professional way. Directors don’t stay long; they get transferred, they resign, or they leave, and the company don’t say the reason. The president’s guy (the one who makes his lunch every day) has the power to influence the people and influence your job.

Pluspunten

Summer hours are decent as well as some overtime.

Minpunten

Where to start. The company values its processes over employees, when they feel like adhering to their processes anyway. The place is expanding into corporation level, but management still runs it as a small business which is absolutely not sustainable. Human resources in Canada is a complete joke and would rather lose good employees who have valid criticisms instead of increasing pay to those who are doing the work of two people. Speaking of that, two hard working quality inspectors left due to crap wages and literally the next day rewarded the rest of the department with multiple dollars raises. (Not saying those folks don't deserve it, but not everyone got a raise either.) Its the A and T show there, the VP thinks he's calling the shots, but he's really not. Hard to take him seriously with all the hot air he's filled with. No room for advancement. Poor wages for the area. Empty promises. Brown nosers bringing flowers and random gifts to supervisors then getting people fired. I could go on and on and on. The place is a headache and not worth the almost minimum wage. I can't believe people just don't walk out, they would definitely get through to management that way because the kowtow to Kawasaki with ZERO pushback at the expense of the sanity of their employees, particularly the quality department.
