* Excellent place for folk who are intrinsically motivated, fast moving, who can adjust to and work well in ambiguity, and tend to execute first and ask questions later. * Fast moving, focused on employee independence and freedom * Competitive salary; effective results matter more than effort or good intentions, and customer obsessed. * Teams are small, narrowly focused on deep projects, and integrated across domains - there is no such thing as a big “Data Science”, “Engineering”, “Product Management” silo or similar * Talented and strong engineering team, showing a great mix of humility and team-oriented focus, that's balanced against solid skills and fast execution ability

Minpunten

* It is not an easy place for (most) people who are just starting their career. Mentorship program is non existent and ad-hoc, and progression and growth is self initiated, driven and motivated. Most folk who do well have had at least 2-3 years under their belt, and are self starters who intrinsically self improve. Some who do well are earlier in their career, but have moved much faster in their own development and can grow on their own, unattended * Team structure, projects and plans will quickly and often without much slack be adjusted, as required, to fit clear business goals and customer requirements. Those who crave structure, a stable environment, and predictable long term plans, will have trouble adjusting * Maintaining work-life balance during the pandemic was challenging, but that is not the norm. The company offers (real, not faked) unlimited paid time off, and leaves it up up to each team member to take the time when needed, no questions asked - and to strike their own balance where it works best. Folk who rely on the org or environment they're in to enforce a work life balance for them, this may not work well for them * Almost all work is remote, and teams are distributed geographically. Folk who rely on significant face time for work satisfaction or for delivering results, will not do well

Minpunten

Senior leaders could not care less about employees and routinely make bad market decisions leading to foreseeable product issues and eventual layoff cycles. There was a time a few years back where employees criticized the dark patterns in the app - the president got pissed and said 'the data didn't show it was an issue', then a few months later when we got bad press about those patterns dismissed it as our competitors planting stories - sums up the culture pretty clearly.
