There are no pros to working for MEMIC. They look great, sell themselves very well, but once you get inside and take a look at the organization you quickly realize that from the CEO on down this organization just doesn't "smell" right. In all honesty, Do not trust management or believe the company's internal hype.

Minpunten

Very egocentric. Intimidated by any person who has new ideas not in alignment with what sr. management thinks. Management is very cowardly in that they will not face you to confront, they hide behind HR. Quite frankly, I would not trust the financials. Management is very condescending. Claims management is not sympathetic to injured workers. Underwriting changes course like a dog chasing a rabbit. Loss Control lack any skills relevant to a real world business operation, but makes tries to convince you they know all.

As of today, 97 out of our 438 employees have been with us for 10+ years. In fact, this year MEMIC is celebrating its 25th anniversary as are 12 of our employees. Great benefits Sr. Leadership continuously adapting to keep workforce engaged - including management training, gallup engagement action planning, adjusting benefits package/bonus structure. All while keeping profitable growth at the forefront to keep the company secure as a stable employer.

Minpunten

Lots of ongoing change, so being nimble is important. Not necessarily a con, but can be if navigating change is hard for you. Upward mobility opportunities are limited, as it's not the largest employer relative to the industry. Also not necessarily a con, unless that's essential for you.
