Pluspunten

-Discounted pet food. -Great product. Nulo’s mission to help pets become healthier is very inspiring. -The internal marketing team (not sales) is by far the best part about the company. It is full of extremely smart, driven, resilient, and creative professionals who all support each other to the fullest. The VP of marketing is an excellent leader and everyone under her respects her and values her greatly. The digital marketing manager is just as respected and admired by her team members. These two women truly inspire their entire team.

Minpunten

-The CEO/founder is egotistical, extremely resistant to change, and lacks any form of empathy for his employees. He is a micromanager who expresses himself through passive-aggressive actions. Nulo employees walk on eggshells and fear being fired because of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. They flat out avoid talking to the CEO about anything that could even potentially upset him. A genuine “open-door” policy is nonexistent. -The C-level leadership team does not prioritize the health and wellness of their employees at all. Through COVID-19 stages 3, 4, and 5, employees were required to come into the office, even though everyone’s work could be done virtually. Worst of all, the handful of employees who expressed concerns about coming into the office during the pandemic all “happened” to be fired or furloughed indefinitely. Employees had to essentially decide between their physical/emotional health and their job, it was extremely disheartening. -There is no HR department, which prevents employees from being heard or feeling safe. The only "HR" person is the CFO and he only cares about himself. He is unapproachable, manipulative, and does not respect women. -Very few people have gotten promotions here. The company does not seem to believe in career development/progression. -The "healthier together" company motto is a complete misrepresentation of the toxic environment that actually exists at Nulo. -There is clear favoritism towards males at this company, specifically white men.

Pluspunten

Building long-term relationships with store managers and customers across my territory. Coworkers share advice on accounts and sales strategies instead of getting overly competitive. Visiting different stores, so workdays don't look the same. Gaining confidence in handling difficult conversations and strengthening my communication skills.

Pluspunten

It’s interesting analytical work with a friendly and collaborative team. One thing I appreciated right away was the culture. People are passionate about the products and the mission, which creates good energy. I also like that the leadership is open to new ideas and difficult discussions. You’re encouraged to look deeper into trends and make suggestions for improvement.
