Petroplan and the management team have been nothing but great to me. I joined as a Recruitment Consultant and worked my way up to Team Manager. Career progression is available for those that want to work hard and I believe that the managers genuinely want to promote within. Petroplan are a top company that like to put industry specialism and client service as their two main aims…. not KPI’s and/or aggressiveness! This creates a good working environment and provides clients with a better delivery function. Overall Petroplan punches way above it's weight in the industry and the improvements needed are not down to the current management team. In the last few years I strongly believe that the current CEO (Philippa Barnes) has the best understanding of the business and vision for the company. I have attended client meetings with her, sat in on business reviews and she is head and shoulders above previous employees at the same position. If anything I wish that she had taken over the business sooner. The directors and owners of the business are nothing short of amazing. Two ex O&G engineers who have actively stayed involved with the business and host an annual BBQ for workers. Can’t say enough about Graham, John (both owners), Jos (Operations Director) and Pauline (Client Director). My direct manger and EMEA Director Jon France supported me throughout and I'm very grateful to him also. International travel is supported and there are incentives in place for top performers. The international presence is great with offices in many regions making it easier to support clients. Our middle eastern client development managers bring in a lot of business for the EMEA team which really helps. Options for relocation are supported and a number of colleagues left to leave to our U.S, Oman or Canadian office. 12pm finish on Fridays were great as well (it will be hard to adjust back). I would highly recommend Petroplan to anyone looking to join this business if they have a real passion for the Oil & Gas industry and really want to be part of a company that is on the way up!

Some of the support teams need work, however I do feel as though most are being addressed: - I.T who refuse to accept any criticism and pretend like everything is ok despite daily issues with emails and being blocked out of the system. There is a new I.T project in that should see to this but the I.T team need to take responsibility! - The finance team has not been the best since big changes made by the previous CEO. This is improving with the new strategy but still needs time. - The HR team in London should look to build more of a relationship with the sales team who drive the business rather than trying to penny pinch at every corner. Overall HR have been fantastic in 5 years, however the last 9 months in London have been tough. There is a risk of it alienating the sales team if it continues.
