The idea behind having simulations was to bring back this element of being in office virtually, where you could work together and also have fun together, being on the same platform for a few hours throughout the day. Think of it this way, if you would like to talk to your team members like you would have done it if in office - you could simply call out on the "Hangout meeting" and quickly get the answer to your question. Or if you wished to collaborate on any task, you could check with the person on hangout and initiate a separate conversation. Simple! Not only work, but these times together were also meant to meet the families of team members, sip a cup of coffee together or even have lunch together.
