Being fired and not being given a reason other than I said something that upset someone. I wasn't told what I said. I was grilled for two hours after close of business one afternoon, and my manager was visibly annoyed that I had no clue about what I might have said, and would not confirm any of my guesses. One of the weirdest situations I've ever encountered in a workplace.

* A strong focus on continual improvement of the team - if you have an idea for how to evolve and improve things then there is a good chance you will be able to instigate change * A constant stream of varied and challenging projects * Opportunity to work with highly skilled and passionate team members * If there is a bleeding edge technology trend then we tend to get involved pretty early * Engineering is continually updating and evolving to use the latest frameworks, tools, and approaches * Rapid career progression paths available for those that like to be challenged

* The food in the DUMBO area can be pretty limited
