Pluspunten

It's a great second job if you don't care how many hours you're getting and you like not knowing what you'll be doing everyday.

Minpunten

Some daycares will have you as the only person teaching a class of pre-schoolers and kindergarteners with no prep. Others will have you assist 2 other teachers with a small group of 2 year olds. It can be very overwhelming when the children will only listen to their regular teacher and you've been asked to get them to do something. It was frustrating that daycares reliability score didn't go down when they canceled a shift the day before but in the same situation the worker's do. Overall it was difficult to find shifts that worked with my schedule, especially with summer coming up.

Pluspunten

Very flexible, you make your entire schedule, good pay, good communication with company, the system is very easy to manage

Minpunten

You can only work if there are jobs available, there is usually only an option for 8 hour shifts, some of the daycares are very short staffed

Pluspunten

No experience necessary, you just have to pass the background check

Minpunten

They lie about what they will reimburse for. You have to pay about $75 up front for all the background check and fingerprinting. They claim it’s all reimbursable in their documentation, but when you send in the receipts they tell you “we actually don’t reimburse for fingerprinting” even though it clearly says they do. Plus it takes at least 2-3 weeks for all that to “clear”. It’s also nearly impossible to get shifts. There are only a few a day, if that, and when you’re new and have no rating yet no one will hire you. The best part is, the 50 bucks that is technically reimbursable can ONLY be reimbursed after you’ve worked a shift! What a fun catch 22 to be stuck in. Oh and most shifts pay 15 an hour, not the 19-21 that is advertised.
