The Venga family is awesome!
This is a highly international group of good, caring and friendly people. Venga is the right place for you if you are looking to build strong professional and personal bonds with coworkers and clients, work with cross-functional teams to tackle interesting and important L10N challenges, constantly learn about technology, have the opportunity to be part of process and workflow creation, provide the best quality and customer service, spend most of your day in an environment where your well-being truly matters and opinions are heard by the CEO, your supervisor and coworkers.
The CEO, upper management and the other Program Managers are extremely knowledgeable and bright localization professionals. At a personal level, they are approachable, supportive, always willing to listen and have healthy conversations. As a company, Venga cares about creating partnerships with all its clients and will go above and beyond to take care of their needs. As an employer... keep reading, more details below :-).
Professional advancement is based on merit:
I was promoted from project manager to program manager after one year at the company (I was there for three years) because the performance of my account had significantly improved and stabilized since my arrival, the client and upper management were happy with the decisions I made and trusted me and my judgement. I had shown leadership within the company and proven my capability to take on more responsibilities.
Venga always encourages everyone’s professional development and growth:
1. No matter what your role is, everyone has the opportunity to be the author of a blog/blog series, that the marketing team helps draft and edit before publishing.
2. Venga also provides assistance with abstract creation to attend conferences. Of course, you need to come up with your own idea on what to present.
3. If your abstract is accepted, the team helps you review your presentation and gives you feedback on what to improve.
4. Other project managers have been promoted to program managers.
5. Interns became full-time employees.
This is the best investment I’ve seen in people: Interns are hired with the goal to be converted into full-time employees. Whoever didn’t make the cut from intern to PM was because they were not ready to make it to the next level (for example: didn’t perform above average, didn’t communicate effectively, and therefore, could not have direct interaction with clients).
As an employer, Venga is very supportive with the needs of its team.
1. Offers relocation to international offices if you cannot longer work in the U.S.
2. You can work remotely if your team is not based in one of the offices, you actually live far, and you are experienced in your role (rookies, come to the office).
3. Flexible hours and WFH are allowed after training has been completed as management trusts that you are doing you job and not taking advantage of the system (it will be obvious if someone is slacking and that person/behavior won’t last long).
4. You can also work from home for an extended period of time if you have a personal situation that prevents you from coming to the office. My supervisor didn’t hesitate to allow me to work from my home country for 3 weeks when one of my parents was ill, even my clients were supportive and understanding with the situation.
5. Upgraded health benefits (up to you to decide the plan)
6. Fair compensation
Overall, you get to manage some of the most interesting accounts in Silicon Valley and skyrocket your knowledge of software, multimedia and marketing localization while working with the most talented people in the vendor and client sides and having fun along the way.
Minpunten
None. I was a happy Venganite for three years.
As a piece of advice for anyone looking for positions on the vendor side: work can get busy here as it will be at any other language service provider. This was a huge positive for me as the exposure to diverse projects, content, clients, and responsibilities accelerated my professional development and I enjoy a fast-paced work environment.
