K, thanks for your feedback. You appear to be working from our development center in India since you aren't aware that we have Java developers working for 11 years now in US. In this tough economy in India, while most companies are freezing salaries or forcing senior developers to leave, we should not be critical of getting a minimum of 8% hike. Also, growth in position comes from shouldering more responsibilities. So, if we want to work 8 hrs to the dot like a government job and expect a raise/promotion due to seniority, then, it is never going to happen in private sector. We need to be aware that raise/promotion comes from providing value-addition, and not by years of service like Government Jobs. We will appreciate if you can talk to us directly, and explain a plan how you can add more value. Thanks,
