Sollicitatiegesprek
I interviewed at Incode for over 3 months. The first few rounds of interview including the case study happened within the first month. The last 2 months were idle with the CEO wanting to interview me (and then falling sick and then taking a leave). Finally after speaking to the CEO (which I was told is the last step) I was told I needed to speak to another person who does not work at the company but is a product advisor. The interview happened (with me knowing nothing about who the interviewer is and what he/she is going to ask me). I had already received a verbal offer and hence said no to all other companies who approached me after it and then I got to know the external advisor said no to my candidature and I didn't get the job. A couple of things stand out here 1. If one person is a bottleneck in hiring, then how will the teams grow and scale? 2. Why would one trust an external advisor when your team (who is going to work day in and day out with said candidate) has been approved for hiring and has been made a verbal offer? 3. I am now stuck in a situation where I need to reset my expectation and start reaching out to the remainder of the companies (to who I said no) and restart the process. WOW. Still believe in the company and the space they are in but this was a terrible experience as a candidate.
