Payroll Manager

As a Manager of Payroll, you will manage centralized Payroll operations for 24/7 hospital system operations. To help achieve our mission, you will develop management and staff while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local Payroll regulations. Maintaining Payroll data integrity and providing Payroll information to management, as required, is of vital importance. Your ability to demonstrate customer services as a high priority for the department while upholding Inova Health System's Service Excellence program is expected. Determining the accuracy of Payroll information through review of documentation of the Payroll account while running balancing reports, reconciliations and resolving Payroll discrepancies is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Challenges team members to excel and reach for greater opportunities through broad exposure to departmental responsibilities, support and encouragement of formalized education through Inova Health System's tuition assistance program.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements related to Payroll by studying existing and new legislations. Receives direction from Compensation to ensure compliance with FLSA.
  • Meets all regulatory funding requirements (e.g. federal, state and local withholdings, garnishments, levies, child support orders, savings bonds, 401(k), 403(b), etc.).
  • Distributes all team member W-2's, system-wide, in compliance with all statutory obligations including filing deadlines, content, accuracy and filing methodology.
  • Oversees the management and maintenance of Payroll information, tables, data and files by directing the collection, calculation and distribution of data.
  • Reports inconsistencies and Payroll anomalies to the Director of Payroll when necessary.
  • Oversees the Payroll interface process to accurately report Payroll costs to the General Ledger.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing to complete correct/timely Payroll run and pay distribution to all Inova facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Education

Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, HR or HS Diploma/GED and an additional four years of relevant experience.

Experience

5 years of payroll experience

3 years of management experience
