The Risk Management Function is a key control function within D.A.S. As a second line function, it ensures the adequate implementation of the Risk Management & Internal Control System framework within the company and the adequate fulfillment of corresponding regulatory/group/local requirements.

You will be part of a team of 3 peoples including the Head of the department (also Chief Risk Officer). The small size of the team guarantees you a direct involvement in key Risk Management processes of the company and regular contacts with the key peoples within the company (Executive Committee, Middle Management…)


Mission and objectives of the function:



  • Support the Head of Risk Management Function (also Chief Risk Officer) of the company in the performance of its tasks regarding the management of qualitative risk
  • Support the Head of Risk Management Function (also Chief Risk Officer) of the company in the performance of its tasks regarding regulatory and internal reportings
  • Participation to key strategic projects within the company as representative of the Risk Management Function

Tasks:


Qualitative Risk Management


  • Strategic risks: Work together with the business to identify and assess significant strategic risks of the company and present them for the Direction Committee. Monitor the follow up for these risks.
  • Assessment, Evaluation, Steering and Monitoring of the quantitative risks of the company, namely

    Operational Risks:
  • Entity Levels: coordination and steering of the entity levels risks (regulatory requirements, governance…)
  • Processes-related risks: continuous improvement of the internal control system of the company in heavy collaboration with the first line (interviews, definition of controls, support in implementation, monitoring…)
  • IT-related risks (cybersecurity): support to the IT department and to the Information Security Officer in the follow-up and steering of the IT-related risks (cybersecurity)
  • Continuity risks: support to the BCMS Manager in the implementation and follow-up of the Business Continuity Management System of the company

Supervisory/Compliance risks:

  • Support to the Head of the Risk Management, and in coordination with the Compliance Function, in the handling of supervisory/compliance risks (follow-up of legislation, establishment of action plan…)
  • Support to CRO regarding the performance of the “Fit & Proper” processes

Reputational Risks: support to the Head of the Risk Management, and in coordination with the Compliance Function, in the handling of reputational risks.


Reporting

  • Performance of the qualitative reportings namely:
  • Risk Management & Internal Control System report (CRO opinions/statements, quarterly report to the Audit & Risk Committee, annual report of the CRO to the Board of Directors…)
  • SFCR & RSR
  • Memorandum of Corporate Governance
  • Report of the Executive Committee on the efficiency of the system of governance
  • Support to the Quantitative Risk officer for the providing of the qualitative parts of key Solvency II reports namely:
    • ORSA – Preparation of the quantitative part/projections on the business plan horizon


Governance

  • Follow-up of the key governance-related legislation/requirements
  • Coordination and follow-up of the “Fit & Proper” processes in collaboration with the CRO
  • Regular follow-up and update of the policies/guidelines applicable within the company

Strategic Projects

  • On request of the Head of the Risk Management Function, participate to strategic projects of the company (e.g. review of products, significant legislative change…)

Dit kan je aanvinken

    Your profile


    • Master degree in Economics, Civil Engineer, Science in Business Engineering, Law or equivalent
    • A proven training/certificate in “Operational Risk Management” is a strong asset
    • A proven experience in Risk Management and/or in the insurance sector is an asset
    • Active knowledge of one of the two national languages (French/Dutch), passive knowledge of the other national language and active knowledge of English
    • You have excellent analytical skills and a high level of independence and critical spirit: you can maintain your position even under significant pressure
    • You demonstrate a capacity to convince others of your opinion: you can rely both on quantitative and qualitative arguments to demonstrate your arguments, you can present easily your opinion both by writing and orally in front of different types of audience…
    • You are flexible in your personal organization and capable to change priorities quickly and identify the highest priorities
    • Finally, you are proud and accountable for your acts and decisions and feel attracted by a strategical challenging environment!
