Pluspunten
There were some competent colleagues working together, at least in Amsterdam. Many had been with Adevinta-Marktplaats since eBay times. Vey competent, smart, kind people. Benefits are average and disappearing.
Minpunten
There have been multiple rounds of large-scale layoffs globally and at Marktplaats in Amsterdam following the acquisition. There have also been ongoing silent layoffs. Recently, several accounts were deactivated, and the CEO told employees not to try to contact colleagues who had been quietly dismissed. The culture that existed during the eBay era in Amsterdam is nowhere to be found. Competent people started leaving this sinking ship more than a year ago. Many talented employees were laid off during the large-scale layoffs, while others chose to leave because they no longer wanted to work there. There is no innovation anymore. The new investors want to separate the brands across different countries and sell the companies individually, but these marketplaces are becoming weaker and are already losing ground to larger international competitors. Nobody cares about product improvements. Quality is no longer a priority or even a topic of discussion.
