Pluspunten
Clients we support are well known and great that we get the exposure of working with multiples. Nice offices, good people to work with / for. Nice atmosphere and flexible working. One great advantage is the ability to move internally to try different accounts / sectors, without judgement. Company encourages internal mobility and progression, but this can be limited unless you want to relocate
Minpunten
Monetary reward is not in line with market rates, at all. Company 'claims' to retain their valued employees but when employees are headhunted by other companies with better salary packages, the company does nothing to try and keep these staff. I have witnessed this several times this year alone and knowing the staff that have left, I can safely say AMS is worse off by losing them without encouraging them to stay. This is not a scare tactic by said staff, I know first hand they would have loved to have stayed and progressed within AMS but could not turn down a salary paying on average 20% more than what they were on. The general stance taken is for AMS to replace these experienced, well-trained staff with junior, non-experienced staff and pay them far less and train them to a good standard over time. Firstly, this impacts delivery and increases pressure / stress levels on remaining staff. Secondly, this is demoralizing to other staff witnessing this as they don't feel valued. It is not easy to progress and increase your salary quickly here, so when you can get paid a fair amount more elsewhere for doing a very similar role, why wait 3 years to progress and get what you deserve now, then? There is also no parity on salaries and more junior staff are often rewarded more than current more senior staff. The company is not upfront and claims to have salary banding, but we all know that is not the case. Staff talk, that's just standard. Don't try and pull the wool over our eyes, just increase salaries to pay good market rates and you won't lose good, loyal staff! They will stay loyal, but can't when they're trying to move on with their lives and have more financial responsibilities.
