Pluspunten

Great modern offices (Los Angeles), very nice coworkers, great managing partner, good location downtown, very diverse and minority and female friendly, down-to-earth feel.

Minpunten

The firm is basically managed by partners in Florida, and even though the offices in LA are very liberal, the powers that be in Florida are not. The health insurance plans for individuals just more than doubled, vacation is average, salaries are low (bonuses are jokingly small and both bonuses and raises are based on time not performance).

Not market but Akerman is offering above market bonuses if you exceed hours.

Used to be an excellent firm. Tenure meant something. Not anymore.

Minpunten

They have new players who seem to get rid of a lot of people in finance. Anticipate the team is spiraling downwards.Right when Akerman had an excellent year, they decided to let the CFO go and replace with a new CFO who is just concerned about laying off people.
