Pluspunten
1. Easy "work" 2. Mindless "work" 3. You get paid slightly above industry - but it's so low anyways it doesn't matter 4. Your biggest challenge is getting to your site on time 5. It's a job (definitely not a career) 6. If you have no place to go other than McDonald's, this is a slight improvement 7. If you had a career before but suffered job loss, you can actually feel better about yourself knowing how much worse your co-workers who made this their living and think it's great. 8. Higher management? What's that? Haven't seen any in years 9. Client employees may actually feel bad for you and treat you well because if you're working for Apollo, they know your career sucks and appreciate it's not them 10. When you leave for the day, you don't bring it home, the job is that simple - no heavy lifting physically or mentally
Minpunten
1. Pay - Don't expect to live off this with a family, it's not really intended to anyways (students and retirees is great). 2. Benefits - I'm sure McDonald's is worse, but they did get an Obamacare exemption, this company probably doesn't have that kind of clout, so employees are screwed. 3. Time Off - Simple, if you don't have vacation time, you don't get paid. No sick time, no personal time, nothing, really the bottom of the barrel here. 4. Raises? Not here, maybe if you were low balled when you first got hired you can get ten cents, but other than that, nothing. You might even get a review to say there's no money to insult you further. 5. As far as "security" goes, you should really find a lawyer and try to go on disability, because this field is horrendous. The pay in most cases doesn't justify actually going to "work" when you figure in the costs. 6. Understand your place in the company - a mindless drone. 7. Co-workers/Management, be careful, even if something is clearly wrong and/or illegal, the client and the contract will be preserved over you at all costs. Unless you have concrete evidence in your hand of wrongdoing, you need to keep your mouth shut - pretty much everywhere nowadays. 8. There is no career path, they tell you there is but it's a lie. The new model now is doing away with low/mid level account managers altogether in favor of lower paid "site supervisors". Only the real idiots in this field forever think the title is worth anything, then again, this field does not attract the "best & brightest" - if you have a pulse, and they have a need, you're in! 9. Realizing that while you're here you continue to go nowhere in a horrible economy with no real opportunity of getting out. No? If I was an employer and saw "security" on a resume, it would go straight into the trash unless I saw it was while the candidate was in college. No, unless you have an incredible special skill set, "security" work is a reminder how screwed you are. 10. If you read this far, and are looking for work, do yourself a favor and not only steer clear of this company, but the field in general (minus aforementioned students/retirees). This is a dead end for you, go learn a trade that can't be outsourced or phased out with technology.
