Apptopia has a fun and lively startup culture with a casual work environment. Everybody is passionate and great at what they do. Being part of a small company allowed me to see how all the pieces that each individual covers come together to form a single business. Because of its size I got to own several pieces of the product, which was great because I watched things I built generate value for our clients. I feel like that is an experience I would not have at a large engineering company. Over all, I met amazing people, grew my technical abilities, gained understanding of how a business works, and got to where I wanted in my career for my next experience. Also free coffee, beer, and snacks, and fun company outings.

Apptopia is lean and challenging to work for. The company is small and full of passionate people, because each person is expected to really own their role. It's great to own pieces of the product but at the same time, it requires you are an expert and ready to take responsibility if things begin to break. It's a really great place to test your abilities but it is not the right challenge for everyone.
