Pluspunten
Pros used to be remote work option and the quality of non-management people. However remote is no longer a unique benefit, and most of the quality people have left. Maybe a year ago I could have thought of more.
Minpunten
BC has gone through many changes over the years, and I don't love being negative, but the new CEO and the exec regime act like they took a book on out of touch toxic management, and use it as a playbook. Some examples: - Proposing bonus structures that punish only working normal hours & taking PTO - Underpaying many roles, promoting people with titles and responsibilities but without pay adjustments. Promising compensation adjustments and not delivering. - Command and control approach with no respect for employees, and saying things like "You didn't need to know a change was coming, because you'd just not work as hard" - Throwing pizza parties and implementing "recognition programs" instead of paying people what they are worth. - CEO micro managing and saying things like "Every single developer should be fixing 3 bugs a day". - Management/Execs letting you do their work, taking credit for it, but then telling you it's not your job if you ever need anything from them. I could go on, but in summary I can unbiasedly say I've never seen a toxic environment form so quickly, and I don't know anyone who hasn't left yet that isn't unhappy and looking for new opportunities.
