Management are adept at providing PR-like soundbites and have no genuine interest in supporting customer facing staff. Hopeless HR function is like Siobhan Sharpe in the BBC series '2012', following the company handbook book rigidly and relentlessly with little common sense. Utterly clueless in staff welfare and motivation. Staff are poorly paid and undervalued in what is often a stressful job. As people leave, their tasks are merely added onto the remaining staff's workload.
