I started at Citizens over 4 years ago through one of their Early Career Development Programs (ECDP) for recent college grads. The support I received from my colleagues has been overwhelmingly positive, in the program and beyond, as I advance my career here. Citizens places a strong emphasis on career growth, offering numerous opportunities for professional development and advancement. Whether through office hour sessions with recruiters, mentorship opportunities, and upskilling opportunities, Citizens ensures that colleagues have the tools and support they need to progress in their careers. This is proven by their recent investment in Talent Matters, a tool designed to help colleagues develop and build relevant skills, network across the organization and build a meaningful career. My manager is supportive of my career growth as well and seeks opportunities to help me grow, innovate and be ready for the future. With plenty of touchpoints to receive and provide feedback, and more structured conversations happening twice a year, managers are encouraged to help build and support your growth plan to help you learn new skills. This culture of growth and innovation starts at the top. The senior and executive leadership teams are approachable and genuinely invested in the success of their colleagues. Regular town halls, Let's Connect meetings, and open-door policies make it easy to connect with leaders and gain insights into the company’s strategic direction. The culture at Citizens is another major highlight. The environment is collaborative and inclusive, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Colleagues are supportive and always willing to lend a hand. There’s a big emphasis on volunteerism and there are endless opportunities to get involved and give back to our communities. I also feel a great sense of flexibility and autonomy over my workload and personal schedule, which positively impacts my feelings about my role. As the world is constantly evolving, so is Citizens. Shifting priorities and a growing list of priorities can feel overwhelming, but the company does its best to understand colleague sentiment more than once a year, and I feel leadership takes the feedback into consideration when finding areas to improve upon.
