Pluspunten
Each store seems pretty independent/different. I imagine that some of the slower suburban locations are much better to work at. The unlimited unpaid vacation is no joke; as long as you formally request time off two weeks in advance you can actually take off as much time as you want.
Minpunten
Unless you’re an above and beyond employee your hours will fluctuate dramatically. Sometimes I was scheduled for 5 days a week other weeks I wasn’t scheduled at all. Probably the biggest negative was that the menu and restaurant standards changed constantly and there was NO paid training. The manager sent out long emails detailing how to make sandwiches but never actually demonstrated how to make them while employees were in the store. Because it’s a pretty large company each shift kinda had its own culture and rules. There was a ton of turnover both in management and for regular employees. The food can be pretty expensive (think $20 salads) but the employees and management really did not want to personalize anyone’s food (even if there was an allergy issue.) Definitely did not encourage special customer service (which was depressing bc your tips are a large part of your paycheck). Sort of toxic as far as employee gossip. I’m a really private person and i felt penalized for not over sharing. The longer I worked there the more it felt like McDonald’s.
