Pluspunten
Reasonable pay. Some smart people. They have lots of (someone else's) money to spend. Nice facilitie$ to work within. Most people can work a flexible schedule (but long hours). No budget concerns.
Minpunten
Management doesn't have a clue how to manage people, technology or a company. Projects with unrealistic goals are discarded after most of the staff works nights and weekends for months on end. It’s very difficult to do quality engineering since management won’t plan ahead, and don’t want you to either (knee jerk reactions are appreciated, though). Meetings require listening to management rant & shout obscenities at you. Elitist attitudes & pandering do far more for career growth than quality work. They’re trying to compete in a field where they have no technology advantage. From an employee perspective, they have no stock options, no 401K matching, no severance benefits which all adds up to terminating employees with impunity (they hire & fire people regularly, I presume it’s cheaper than using a contract agency).
