Pluspunten
Worked there a number of years and initially it had a small company's casual atmosphere with lots of friendly coworkers who I enjoyed working with and knew well. Everyone's doors, even senior management, were always open and they're willing to talk to employees about anything. As a small company, you get to gain experience in many different areas beyond what your initial job title says in ways often not possible in larger companies. As an example, I'd help people with other job titles when their workload was heavy and mine light, and fill in when they had days off. I learned a lot as a result.
Minpunten
Starting wages are low with very infrequent cost of living adjustments and limited promotion abilities due to their smallish 25-ish employee workforce. Atmosphere turned abruptly more corporate with new management hires and suddenly 40+ hours a week was expected with no possibility of overtime. Their financial outlook was bleak as the market is very competitive and public schools don't have big allowances for software.
