My tenure at Confluent turned into a disheartening saga, not only marred by the disastrous local management in Barcelona but also by the duplicitous top management in the U.S. They dangle promises like carrots to keep employees on board, only for everyone to eventually realize they are nothing more than empty words. The once-thriving team was led astray by a manager in Barcelona, whose only passion seems to be for wine and Machiavellian tactics. This individual, devoid of any genuine leadership skills, has turned the workplace into a realm of deception, micro-management, and manipulation. Confluent, from top to bottom, has become a breeding ground for broken promises and political maneuvering. It's disheartening to witness the demise of what was once a promising workplace. Save yourself the disappointment and steer clear of Confluent's web of deceit and empty commitments.
