Confluent has a good engineering culture with plenty of interesting problems to solve, and smart and kind colleagues to solve them with.

Minpunten

Pay is a lot less than it used to be, and the company is becoming much more stingy in a lot of ways, such as mainly hiring engineers in Canada and India. There is a lot of pressure to keep up growth and prioritize product innovation at the expense of developer productivity.

Since the IBM acquisition, there has been uncertainty around the future structure and career path for SDRs. Communication could be more transparent regarding organizational changes, promotion opportunities, and long-term strategy for the SDR organization.
