Pluspunten
The company cares about its employees and the people they serve, producing a company culture at Cook that is like no other. Employees are genuinely happy and motivated. They really believe in their work and their products, so they don't do things for the sake of getting it done. Co-workers are your friends, and time outside of work is often spent in their company. And of course, it is tremendously rewarding building products that save peoples lives. This is all a result of great management (a horizontal structure) and great employees. The company as a whole is not only down to earth, but knows what it is doing. And the facility is beautiful.
Career options and professional development are above average. They truly care about what you find interesting, and will work with you to find the best role for you in the company. Many employees have successfully made 180 degree career changes within the company. They fully support continuing education of their employees.
Minpunten
The location cannot compare to places like New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. However, the headquarters is close to Indiana University so the college campus can afford young adults limited entertainment. Outside of the campus, the place is what you would expect of the midwest.
Cook was behind the curve in IT. Don't expect state-of-the art computers, networking, or infrastructure. Changes in IT occur slowly, and take a long time to be fully adopted.
Cafeteria really isn't the best, but it's cheap and does the trick.
You don't work with the best and the brightest, but you work with really intelligent people that lack the qualities that make you want to pull your hair out.
