Offer Revoked After Acceptance: Two weeks after formally accepting the role, the offer was suddenly withdrawn. The explanation given was that the company wanted someone “more senior.” Team-Level Mismanagement: From what I understood, the department or project team may have pushed for a last-minute change, leaving HR to deliver the bad news. This shows poor alignment between hiring managers and HR, and ultimately put candidates in an unfair position. Negative Career Impact: The delay caused me to miss out on pursuing other opportunities, including higher-paying roles, because I had already committed to this one. Questionable Hiring Practices: Accepting a candidate and then rescinding after weeks is not only unprofessional but also unethical, as it wastes time and creates unnecessary stress.
