DX Gloucester: First day went in the owner informed me I had to pay out of my pocket for a phone software subscription to organise the deliveries. They should have that already installed on their devices. Why should I pay my own money to do a job?! They tried to send me out in a battered old 7.5t van which didnt have a working brake light. That is illegal to send a driver out in an unroadworthy vehicle. I refused to go out until they fixed it which they did. The van was in such bad condition it was easily the worst vehicle on the road, it was an embarrassment. There was also a leak in the roof and a customers' delivery got soaking wet so he wasn't happy. I did a few days for them and was doing ok, then one of the long term workers came with me to help one day. We got on just fine but when I got home that night I was told by my agency that my shifts had been cancelled. Obviously this worker had badmouthed me to the management even though I did nothing wrong. DX if you bothered to run your company properly you might retain workers.
