Pluspunten

I am happy to work with fabulous assistant managers and actually have a cool store manager when he's not pissed off over something. Stocking is also not that bad. The manager is very good at scheduling around people's other schedules.

Minpunten

The pay is crap. They expect you to bend over backwards for the customer without giving any incentive in return. When you get paid only $9 an hour, you should expect only so much. The management sucks, especially when you get to the higher ups. The right h and doesnt know what the left hand is doing. They obviously have no idea how to run a store with all the stupid ideas and plans they come up with for the store. They obviously dont know that when your warehouse is filled to max capacity, they just send along another 1700 piece truck to see where you can fit that in. We also have a huge homeless population nearby that come in and steal all kinds of merchandise, leave their drugs in the bathroom, and we cant even get a lock for the door. Not to mention we've been asking for dividers for the registers for over a year and havent gotten them yet. I hate walking into work every day.

Pluspunten

Working at Dollar Tree provided valuable hands-on leadership experience across every aspect of retail operations. I strengthened my skills in inventory management, merchandising, freight planning, staffing, customer service, compliance, and operational execution. The fast-paced environment challenged me to think quickly, prioritize effectively, and develop my team while delivering results. The relationships I built with my associates and customers were by far the most rewarding part of the job.

Minpunten

The workload often exceeded the labor hours provided, making it challenging to consistently meet operational expectations. Store managers were frequently expected to handle multiple responsibilities while working with lean staffing levels. Facility and equipment issues sometimes took longer than expected to resolve, and support from upper management could be inconsistent. While the job offered valuable experience, maintaining work-life balance could be difficult during peak freight and seasonal periods.
