Emerald's culture is based on cross-functional teamwork and very rapid execution. As a result, there is a lot less red tape getting things done, and there is a lot of encouragement for creative problem solving and ownership. Leadership is extremely accessible, communicative, and transparent. The benefits are adequate (average 4% 401K match, PTO) or good (high-deductible health plan is lower deductible/annual OOP max. vs. others I have seen, annual HSA contributions, robust wellness plan, access to group rates on special insurance options such as special accident, critical illness, and ID theft plans).
Minpunten
The company has not put any clear objectives in place for sustainability or racial equality, which makes the "do the right thing" mission ring somewhat hollow in 2020-2021. It is a very fast-paced environment with very direct communication, so some people may not fit in here if they are used to more methodical processes or sugarcoated feedback. It is a lean organization, so there is not much of a ladder for growth.
