Pluspunten
- Colleagues are great - most are very kind and want to help. - Some of the leaders seem sincere about their wish to create a better workplace for everyone (e.g. the Director of DEI was very passionate about changing the workplace culture but he was limited as to what he could do.) - Flexible schedule. - Good work-life balance. - Unlimited PTO.
Minpunten
- While I'm inclined to give each leader the benefit of the doubt individually, collectively they demonstrate poor leadership and management skills. There's a consistent lack of clarity regarding performance reviews, bonuses, salary adjustments for cost of living, inflation, and benefits. Despite vague promises of improvement, they remain unfulfilled. Personal experience includes years without a performance review, while a colleague has been seeking a raise for over a year without progress. - The effort to become "One Employ" is vague, disorganized, and chaotic. Since we're 3 brands in 1, it gets confusing when we try to tell the customers what product we were talking about. Because of this merger, there isn't a real answer on how projects will be run between the 3 business unit, if this means that all branding will be "employ", and how teams are divided. - Like most of the reviews here have mentioned, we've had about 5 layoffs since 2023, and 2024 just started a quarter ago. - Every time there is an "All hands meeting", the main topic is finance, money, and churn. The message is always grim and very dire. I've wondered for a couple of years now whether this company would go under because that's what it seems like based on what's shared with us. - Decisions are made based on what K1 (the investors) wants, which results in 0 empathy or care for the employees so long as they can meet their financial goals, (Profit first, always!) - My direct manager was consistently gaslighting, discouraging, and emotionally abusive. They undermined my decisions and belittled my knowledge and skills, often turning arguments to portray themselves as victims. They frequently changed their stance and dismissed my prepared work, claiming I misremembered details even when documented. Their behavior made me question my career path (and sometimes sanity), but fear of retaliation kept me from reporting to HR. Maybe I was just unlucky to have gotten a manager like this. - Benefits are pretty bad compared to what we've had previously. Even stipends for professional development were cut. - Most of the current employees are afraid that our roles would be off-shored. This last lay-off had moved many of the roles to India.
