Pluspunten
I was thrown into the deep end when I was hired at ECS, in a role and a business I knew nothing about. But the leadership believed in me, which drove me to succeed. Employees are treated as individuals. The leadership knows what's going on in everybody's lives: Who is just getting over being sick, who just bought their first house, etc. Leadership is also quick to given credit for any wins to the team, any credit for the company's success to the people in it. If you lose a loved one, you can expect flowers to show up from your work family to show up at the funeral. If you're in the hospital, balloons are likely to show up by your bedside. The culture is equally challenging and encouraging which brings out the best in almost everybody. They have an inherent trust in their employees, empowering them to make decisions to keep the company moving forward.
Minpunten
With such a fast-moving business, communication can suffer. Business opportunities can pop up, which can put employees back on their heels trying to meet unexpected deadlines. People are always functioning at high capacity, which can lead to burnout. The initiation phase if short, if at all. There seems to be a gap in new-hire training. Supervisors are always willing to answer questions, which is great as long as you know what to ask. However, the leadership is always evaluating, always looking for ways to improve systems and processes. They are open to suggestions and always willing to help. Regular check-in meetings with supervisors keep communication open and expectations clear.
