Unfortunately these same people hold all the keys to change, so its like being in a car driven by someone who is intoxicated, will not listen to you, and is separated from you by a plate glass window. As an individual contributor, there is no recognition program - your work is absorbed and added to the resume of your leadership. The culture is dominated by a general lack of trust, and and an unwillingness to work as a team.
