Management - Family owned, which means nepotism and favoritism abound without regard to talent or aptitude for management with one cyclist exception. The CEO regularly made other employees cry by screaming at them and threatening to replace them. Layoffs are common after 90 days. I joined with 3 other buyers, and 2 were immediately let go.
Undervalued Employees - Not only is everyone substantially underpaid, but they actively cut benefits and salary for everyone while I was working there. You will not get cost of living raises. I once brought up missing hours due to a non-functional timeclock, and the CEO withheld payment until I threatened to contact the DoL with proof and screenshots. That is completely and utterly unacceptable.
Inflexible - Management has a very narrow and frankly uneducated view of business and is slow to adapt not just to the labor market, but to the changing eCommerce world.
Religion - The other reviews you have read here are accurate. Favoritism abounds if you are of a certain faith, and some really nasty people thrive in an environment they should be fired from with more objective and unbiased leadership. Anyone who is a current employee knows exactly which *short* tempered folks I am referring to.
