If you have to choose between working at FreightCenter and turning tricks in Bangkok, book your ticket to Thailand right away. The CEO wanders in at 10:00 am each day, yawns through some meetings, tells some people that they’re stupid, then goes to the gym for two hours. He comes back and wanders around the office in a t-shirt and shorts two sizes too small for him, and spends the afternoon talking about employees behind their backs, explaining how everybody is stupid and trying to steal his money. Management is composed of whoever could (and would) stab the most people in the back, climbing to the top over mounds of dispatched coworkers. Everybody hates everybody; nobody respects anybody; nobody trusts anybody. They all smile to each others’ faces, then rage about each other behind closed doors. Management does nothing but in-fight. Everybody has a different idea about how things should be run, nobody has a clear vision, objectives change from one day to the next, nobody follows through on anything, they all lie to each other and to their employees. A true and complete cluster. The only benefits are the benefits required by law, and some crappy health, dental and vision that they only cover part of. No 401(k) or retirement options of any kind. Bonuses that are promised and never materialize. Two paid sick days (which Management will guilt you over, and try to prevent paying you for if you’re not the “right kind” of sick). Five vacation days after a full year on the job. You can expect to make 20% less at FreightCenter than you would at any other place in the same position. FreightCenter hates you. By earning a paycheck, you are stealing FreightCenter’s money. By expecting decent working conditions, you are stealing more money. By expecting decent benefits, you are stealing more money still. By wanting to have a life outside of FreightCenter, you are stealing their time. You should consider yourself lucky to have a job of any kind because you are filth. Stealing, time-sucking filth. FreightCenter hates you. And they will make sure to let you know that.
