Pluspunten
The people that work at Fuel Tech are truly top-notch: Down-to-earth, hard-working, willing to teach each other. Great work/life balance.
Minpunten
The executive leadership team (VP and above) are about as bad as it gets. Fuel Tech is top-heavy with 10+ VPs in a company of 120-150 people. VPs often do not have enough work to do, so they focus on playing politics and self-preservation instead of turning around the business. Due to the top-heavy structure, young people have very little opportunity for advancement and growth. Their business is declining due to a reduction in the coal-fired utility fleet and lack of innovation from within the company. Upper management appears to have their heads buried in the sand and rarely leaves their offices to visit customers or industry conferences to better understand the current state of the market. The CEO has an accounting background and manages the company through a spreadsheet rather than with vision and purpose.
