Pluspunten

- Friendly and helpful colleagues - Mostly WFH (depending on manager) - RM2k flexi allowance that can be used to claim GP outpatient visits, dental visits, gym membership fees, medical checkup, etc - Japanese language allowance given if you’re assigned to a Japanese project, but must have JLPT N2~N1 certificate/Japanese university certificate to be entitled to it (N1 holders will get slightly more than N2 holders) - 13th month salary - Salary payment on time - Work life balance (for my team)

Minpunten

- Low annual salary increment - Minimal bonuses given - Average salary - Probably due to the company’s nature as a shared service center, the project assigned to my team was the very menial and repetitive kind of clerical work (was initially promised a programming job in the interview but the actual job was actually a “please follow instruction manual to do xx” kinda work). Hence you won’t get any transferable skills or knowledge working here - Micromanagement from clients and managers especially if your client is Japanese; expect writing daily reports, preparing documentations and to start work at 9am everyday (just to satisfy the client’s demand of wanting our daily task report + work schedule before a certain time everyday - even though there’s flex-time policy in place) - Clients expect high quality deliverable even though the deadlines are tight yet give vague instructions on how to do the task - Top management keeps harping about DX (digital transformation), but project schedules/documentations are still managed on Excel instead of a proper project management software - Most KPIs are unrelated to work, they seem more like goals for school students. Also, one of the KPIs mandate employees to participate in at least a few company activities per year, which might be a huge turn off for some people - Limited opportunities for career growth and development (no job rotation schemes available, hence you’ll quickly get bored of your job and it’s pretty much impossible to rotate to other teams unless you have super good coding skills as most of the other positions in this company are mostly in software engineering) - Difficult to get promoted unless you know how to play the game, hence not advisable to stay for more than 2-3 years here
