Because the classes are only one semester long, it's really important to get it right. But too many admin and teachers are very old fashioned and teach in old-school ways. Too many planning meetings listening to these people talk about nonsense. Some admin play favorites.

If you are international college graduate, looking for sponsorship, stay away from GCIT. First of all, when you get a job offer, don't spread the news to friends and family that you have a job, until you are placed on a project after complete their training. After the training they will pick who they want then terminate the rest. Upon telling your family and friends and packing, giving your lease, and moving to a new place claiming you have a job, just to find out that you have been duped. Leaving you without a job and nowhere to go, because you gave out you rent. The few that they select, they will all get fake resumes with 5 years experience on them. A 5 years experience makes you a senior, but you're just a college graduate with zero experience. In return, they will offer a junior rate, they will tell you that you have no experience, while selling you as senior. You salaries remains fixed for long time, while they keep raising your experience from project to project. Here comes the big scam. They will offer sponsorship, which everyone is looking for. Well, these bad guys knows what you want and make sure you don't get in 3-6 year time. They actually will tell you that they will state the process after 6 months, which is a big lie. If you are on OPT including STEM extension, they will not start the process until you are in your year of STEM OPT. They will lie to y0u that the process have been started for GC, meanwhile, nothing got started. If you ask, they will tell you that they are not in control, still waiting for Labor certification and that nonsense. Remember, whether they are doing H1B first or GC, you are responsible for the processing fees, which they lied about from the beginning that they will cover everything. You are better off leaving before they even they start anything, because, once they start, every step will take at lease 8 months, after they have received green light to proceed to the next step. So, if one stage took 6 months to be approved, they delay it for another 6-8 months, while telling you that they are still waiting. After your OPT expires, you will go back to junky school then apply for CPT, they will give you loans at your cost for that upon other things. If they did H1B first,nothing is getting done, until you are in the second 3 year extension. Make you own decision to join, but you will regret doing so later. If you are new, get more information about how the sponsorship works early on. Make friends with old employees, and get the information from them. Don't be afraid about the contract you signed, you have rights, and they are lieing about your experience to get higher pay. You can make case out of it to the department of labor, because, you signed the contract before you experience was disclosed to you in the resume. In fact, a lot of information will be disclose after the contract, which are not in the contract, use them. You might have read good reviews on this site about GCIT, they were written by they themselves, don't be fooled.
