The worst employer I've ever had. Many red flags but wanted to break into the industry. This review is for their Catalog Products Business Units (CPBU).
Training was non existent. 1 week of technical training where the product managers rolled their eyes because you weren't at their technical level. Limited knowledge on their internal ERP system so difficult to navigate. Laughable sales training; my territory overview was a half page Microsoft word sheet on accounts they sold to our visited previously. Leads were minimal. A manager who rarely travelled and the extent of her sales coaching was how I started an email ( hi vs hey vs hello).
Inferior products. Since I had limited leads and previous account history, I did a lot of cold calling and walking hallways. Found many leads, only for it not to be under catalog products. Would have to refer them to my counterparts that provided custom solutions (RSBU). Lot's of sales conversions for them, but when asked if they could get me in front of other customers from some of our catalog products, they'd ignore me. So more competition and no team work or assistance in cross selling.
Unrealistic goals. Mid year, they increased quota by almost double because they were launching a new (incomplete) product. Couldn't even sell the product but still affected our numbers.
An obvious favoritism to Chinese colleagues. During sales meetings, Chinese counterparts would get invited to things, where non chinese (korean, american, ect) would be on their own. Late night calls discussing business on Chinese time zone, with criticism on why our numbers were so low. They would straight insult us on the call and call us lazy.
