Pluspunten
The pay was very fair, there is opportunity for advancement (though the process is obtuse), you can be hired as a recent graduate without previous work experience, and the company is growing quickly.
Minpunten
You are treated like an untrustworthy factory worker-forced to adhere to strict working hours without exception though you are a salary employee (actually tracked down to the second to make sure you are in the building for 9 hours), no remote work under any circumstances (unless it's in their interest for you to take a late meeting and not be compensated), no flexibility, and no work life balance. The mood in the office is hostile between management and employees and very bad between HR and employees. HR has no power since all decisions come from the management in China and HR acts as a mouth-piece for the wishes of the executives. There is very high turnover and new employees always reach a predictable point after being hired where they feel tricked as they learn about the unachievable goals, total lack of transparency, and disregard for life balance. Additionally, training is either completely lacking or insufficient and managers, on the whole, lack interpersonal skills and also have no power since every decision comes from the very top. Even if they wanted to help you, they can't because there are literally no decisions which can be made without approval from China.
