Minpunten
I wasn't valued enough to keep as an employee but was being asked to mentor and train co-workers; even asked to put together internal training as a Subject Matter Expert. Frequently was contacted by co-workers on other contracts to get help/advice in my area of expertise. I was hired to do Development but classified as a Software Tester to minimize the salary they would have to pay. When the contract ended I received my 2 weeks notice with no attempt to place me in other position because I my grade level was 'too low' and was not allowed to apply for jobs at a higher level. That was when I found out the 12+ months I had been working to get my career ladder corrected was a result of deliberate decisions made by HCL at my time of hire limiting my long term viability in the company.
